The project "Cinema in the city, city in the cinema" is intended to highlight the little-known public spaces in the city of Vilnius, historically associated with other European countries. With an open-air screening, the programme will present the various European film schools. The project promoters, by screening these movies, want to show-case the multicultural history of the city of Vilnius, to acquaint residents and guests with little-known but valuable spaces. Young people going to the educational program are encouraged to discover new and unexpected historical and cultural aspects of the city of Vilnius and invited to allow the magic of cinema to reveal the specific character of a personal relationship with Vilnius. The project "Cinema in the city, city in the cinema" consists of film reviews and educational programs. The project is a part of “Vilnius - European Capital of Culture 2009 " project.
